I believe

Jeanine Walker performing

in fostering the poetic potential in all of my students.

I teach the poetry series—Poetry I, Poetry II, Poetry III—where students grow from studying the history of poetry to writing and workshopping their own accomplished pieces.

I also design and teach classes that speak to specific tasks like publishing in literary journals, including Poetry & Publishing, and my students practice plenty of generative writing and revision in The Four-Minute Poem.

For students who want a very close connection to their classmates, I offer a yearlong tutorial (Levels 1-4), and I meet with poets for one-on-one coaching for the most personalized experience.

Just trying it out? Come to my free, drop-in generative poetry session, hosted every fourth Wednesday of the month. Here, adult poets respond to texts and prompts I provide for 90 minutes of generative writing and discussion.

Free Poetry Revision Workshop

An exclusive event for AWP attendees.

Saturday, April 26 from 10 - 11am PT
Where: Zoom

In this class, students will come prepared with poems they've written that need a little extra something. Bring one poem you're happy to tear apart and put back together and one poem that feels almost finished but not quite. We'll do some warm-up writing, then engage in deep revision with these two pieces after studying how the process works.
